About Us
This walk invites you to follow in the footsteps of the Baujus winegrowers, who in 1900 lived in the wine-growing hamlet of Les Grangettes for several months of the year. Two routes, a freedom route and a comfort walk, the latter accessible to all.
Along the winding path through the trellises, you will discover the daily life of workers on the slopes of the Combe de Savoie. But the vines are not revealed so easily and to discover everything, you will have to turn the cranks, open the barrels, tread the grapes, observe with a telescope... So, open your eyes and ears wide!
Leaving from St Jean de la Porte, the path first crosses the village before gradually climbing the hillsides towards the hamlet of Les Grangettes. A breathtaking view is offered to you over the entire Combe de Savoie, now labeled "Vineyards and Discoveries". Along the way, five barrels allow you to discover the history of the vine of yesterday and today. Sound armchairs give voice to the naturalist Pliny the Elder testifying to the presence of vines in the region in the 1st century, to the allobroges or Benedictine monks. They also evoke the hard work of the Baujus peasants of 1900, who came down from the massif to work their small plots of vines on the hillsides. A walk that will also allow you to discover the organization of the wine-growing hamlet of Les Grangettes and its temporary habitat made up of sartos. At the end of the walk, visit the cellar of Méjane, where a film and tasting await you.
