Located under the snowfields of the Grand-Arc, the Barouchat lake, managed by the Savoie Fishing Federation, is open all year round (see openings and prices: 2 fishing periods). Drinks and food on site, rental of fishing equipment possible.
All fishing season:
In order to exploit the surface of this lake, many fishermen use bombettes between 20 and 30 g by bringing them more or less gently to the right depth, while animating the bait. Buldo fishing can also be very effective. On the bait side, the great classics (worm and ringworm) are unavoidable, but the new multicolored "extraterrestrial" baits, sometimes not very academic, also give very good results. Take care: it is not uncommon to try trout weighing 3 to 4 kg, so take this into account when choosing your leader and when fitting.
Fly season:
Barouchat regulars will tell you that all the techniques work: nymphs, dry flies and streamers. Despite everything, the flies that come up most often in the discussions are imitations of larvae and emergent chironomids, in dark or red hues, and black or blue flies for the dry ones. For streamers, white works very well in plunging silk, as well as coral.

Thanks to a groundwater supply, the water is filtered and remains clear and oxygenated. Covering an area of 7 ha for a maximum depth of 12 meters, the reservoir is a place for national and international fly fishing competitions.
Every year many fishermen, of all levels and backgrounds, come to taste the joys of trout fishing in Barouchat.
At the edge of the lake, the chalet and its reception staff put at your disposal: an off-bag area for eating, toilets, boats and float-tubes, fishing equipment and bait for fishing in all serenity. Everything has been thought out for the pleasure of the fisherman (accessible to people with reduced mobility).
Dogs are prohibited.
