About us
One night in the year 1248, a titanic landslide descended from Mont Granier, destroying villages and marking the territory forever. A gigantic cliff was born from this disaster, as well as an unusual and chaotic landscape.
At the start of this walk, you walk along Lake Saint-André, nestled in a depression in this tormented landscape, and in which the Granier likes to admire itself.
It was formed, like the many other small ponds that are dotted along the route, following the collapse of the Granier.
Descended from the top of the mountain, the rocks rolled for miles, forming hollows and bumps, today filled with water or planted with vines.
From the top of its 1933 meters, the Granier dominates this wine-growing landscape and will watch over you during your walk.
Admire the impressive cliff that appeared on that disastrous night in November 1248. At a height of nearly 900 meters, it is one of the highest limestone cliffs in France.
But today the atmosphere is bucolic and the vines that grow quietly at the foot of this giant give birth to the succulent AOC Apremont wine. To discover its flavors, do not hesitate to open the door of a cellar along the way.
