Perched on a rocky outcrop backed by the Bauges massif, this spectacular fortress dominates the Combe de Savoie, the view from the top of its old ramparts is admirable from Mont-Blanc to the Vercors.
Its simple garden welcomes you.

At that time, it belonged to the powerful barons of Miolans, masters of the place and undisputed lords of all the surrounding lands.
Its high walls later housed one of the most feared prisons in the States of Savoy. All it takes is a little imagination for the sinister jails to resonate once again with the plaintive echo of the prisoners (the most famous of whom was certainly the Marquis de Sade), the rattling of the chains or the creaking of their heavy doors.

Now open to the public, this venerable stone vessel houses a charming medieval-inspired garden. The various terraces which dominate it are so many walkways open onto a vast horizon of Alpine peaks. From the snow-capped peaks of Mont Blanc to the distant foothills of the Vercors, passing through the Dent de l'Arclusaz or the Lauzière range, they surround the château in a magnificent mountain setting.
