Les Vergers de Châteauneuf, located in the department of Savoie (73), have as their main activity the production of "IGP Savoie" apples and pears.
The company mainly works for retail professionals who are looking for a top-of-the-range and different product, since the products from the orchards are IGP, Protected Geographical Indication, a sign of quality. The fruits are sweeter, more flavorful and firmer.
Les Vergers de Châteauneuf also perpetuate a traditional know-how, since everything is picked by hand. It normally employs about ten people for placing trays for sale on the shelves, but many more during the harvest period, since the orchards cover 37 hectares and require heavy skilled handling.
These apples and pears of "Marque Savoie: Pommes et Poires IGP Savoie" are marketed under the name "Duo des Savoie". Bite the difference!
