Located on the foothills of the three massifs that make up its identity (the Bauges, the Chartreuse and the Belledonne massif) it welcomes young and old, sportsmen and contemplatives, gourmets and epicureans by revealing, according to the activities it offers, its splendid panoramas on the alpine massifs.
A little bit of history
Historically located on the border between the kingdom of Piedmont Sardinia and the kingdom of France, the Cœur de Savoie territory is a place of passage steeped in history.
From this tumultuous past remains castles, fortified towns, towers and fortified houses... It is also a testimony of the know-how of yesteryear that this endearing and authentic territory offers us, through its ancestral agricultural traditions which drew the landscapes (dry stone walls, sartots, virgin vines). The glacial formation of the valleys and the containment of the Isère today allow a gripping reading of its history, and to understand the formation and evolution of the Alpine massifs.
By its geographical location at the gates of the Savoie department, whether you come from Grenoble or Chambéry, Cœur de Savoie is the obligatory passage to go to the great Savoyard estates. Whether you are passing through for one night, or whether you take the opportunity to spend a few days in the vineyards or on the shores of our lakes, you then have easy access to the high mountain valleys thanks to the road and motorway network that criss-crosses our territory.
