About us

Betton Abbey located in the commune of Betton-Bettonet, in Savoie, is a monastery of Cistercian nuns. It was founded in 1133, at the same time as its male abbey of Tamié.

The abbey is located in the small Gelon valley, parallel to the valley of Savoie; more precisely, it is located at the limit between the slopes of the Montraillant crest and the Gelon valley (on the left bank), in the commune of Betton-Bettonet.
