About Us
Sanctuary of Myans, place of worship and history for visitors interested in a heritage and spiritual discovery of the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna.
Built in the 15th century and restored several times in the 19th and 20th centuries, the sanctuary is made up of two superimposed places of worship.
The lower part or crypt houses the miraculous statue of the Black Madonna, while the upper church was devolved to the Franciscans who served the sanctuary until the Revolution.
Myans became an important place of Marian pilgrimage, with popular devotion attributing to the Black Madonna the protection of the site during the landslide of Mount Granier (24/25 November 1248).
Guided tour with a guide on request for groups.
