About us
Contemporary style statue, in stainless steel, 9 meters high. This work by sculptor Livio Benedetti was installed in May 2017 on the heights of the town of Arbin.
Two works by Livio Benedetti are installed in the heart of Savoie: the "Christ-Roi" in Arbin and "La Savoyarde au pied nu", installed, in May 2022, in front of the Livio Benedetti library in Myans.
Livio Benedetti was born on October 2, 1946 in Verona and died on October 5, 2013 in Challes-les-Eaux. Son of an artisan mason, his family settled in Myans in 1949. He learned the trade of mason in a technical high school to become a works foreman. In 1968, he had the revelation of the sculpture during his military service in Engineering, in Charleville-Mézières. Robert Darnas, the sculptor responsible for the Notre-Dame de Fourvière basilica, encouraged him to continue on this path. Livio Benedetti then set up on his own in Chambéry in 1975.
His works can be seen in several Galleries, including the Harmattan Gallery (in Megève), and in London, and are regularly the subject of exhibitions.
In 2003, the "Sarrasine" also called the "Lady of Tignes" was installed on the shores of Lake Tignes for the 50th anniversary of the eponymous dam. In 2011, the city of Aix-les-Bains acquired one of his works, the "Lady of Music", which is now visible on a roundabout in the city, near the old thermal baths.
