About Us
A difficult stage in succession of forests, clearings and traditional hamlets. The climb to the Oule refuge allows you to walk alongside grandiose and wild landscapes, very marked by their pastoral history.
A step through the glades. From the Pierre du Carre refuge, follow the footsteps of the Echappée Belle trail and cross the places called Planay, Plan de l'Ours, Le Praillet, L'Aup Bernard, La Bourgeat Noire to the refuge of the Oule.
This pendular stage (500 m descent then ascent and 700 m descent then ascent) is marked by its wooded paths. The Aup Bernard hut can serve as a refuge in case of bad weather and is a very nice place to take a break. At the bottom, the village of Gleyzin or Bourgeat Noire is characteristic of these hamlets and valleys withdrawn from time. Traditional alpine chalets were designed to cope with often very harsh conditions, with hay for insulation and proximity to animals for heating. The end of the stage can be conducive to picking some mushrooms, because here all it takes is a storm to see them rise to ground level.
Camille and Christian at the Gîte d'alpage de l'Oule will welcome you and Christian will never tire of telling you a thousand and one stories about his job as a breeder, his herds, his dogs.
