About Us
One of the most difficult stages of the crossing, but one of the most beautiful. The route joins the alpine pastures exploited by herds of sheep. The landscapes of the stage are grandiose and spectacular.
Go back down 150 meters from the alpine lodge, turn left (west) towards Pierre du Pin. Go up to the Léat cross, reach the lake and the chalet of the same name. A real little paradise. Cross the valley of Tigneux and continue to the 2nd chalet of Petite Valloire (or de la Fouetterie). Further down, pass near the 1st chalet of the Petite Valloire, recently renovated. Go down into the forest and join the side path to go to La Martinette.
From Lac du Léat, a vegetation of blueberries, rhododendrons and junipers favorable to the Black Grouse has developed. Then, a few clumps of alders stand on the path leading to the Cross. This rich mosaic of natural environments testifies to the competition between plant species. Pastoralism thus contributes to the maintenance of fragile ecological balances.
Jochen will welcome you at the stopover lodge.
