About Us
During this stage, you will pass the Col de la Vache with its faithful ibexes and the Pas de la Coche. Superb views of Oisans and the Ecrins massif throughout the hike.
From the refuge, return to the main path, follow the Cottepens and Cos lakes to the south. Before the shepherd's hut, head due west and climb to the Col de la Vache (2556m), descent from the pass in the scree. Follow the path that crosses to Pas de la Coche. Then, get off at Habert d'Aiguebelle.
Stage :
You cross the granite plateau of 7 Laux. The 7 Laux pasture is a mineral and rocky pasture. Only sheep intended for meat production graze here. The climb to Col de la Vache is via a narrow valley. From the pass, you can admire a splendid panorama of the eastern slope of Belledonne with the Taillefer and Grandes Rousses massifs, Grenoble and the Vercors massif to the west. These scree are a refuge area for the ibexes. Reintroduced in the 1980s on the Rissiou massif, they colonized the Belledonne range to become one of the largest populations in the Alps. Arriving at Pas de la Coche, you will have a magnificent view of the Ecrins glaciers. The Pas de la coche is the lowest point of the summit ridge of Belledonne, it allows the passage from the valley of Grésivaudan to Oisans. Formerly, it was used by peddlers, thus avoiding the long detour imposed by the bypass of Belledonne. The end of the stage will take you to Habert d'Aiguebelle with the summits of Chamechaude and Dent de Crolles in front of you.
