About Us
You will pass through the Cracked Rock Breach and the Iron Mine Pass and will be immersed in a mineral landscape strongly steeped in its mining history.
From Habert d'Aiguebelle, go up to Pas de la Coche. Up there, go southwest and follow the yellow signs. The path runs along and passes behind the newly marked Ferrouillet. Climb the Roche Fendue breach, the Col de la Mine de Fer, then a plunging finish at the Jean Collet refuge.
Stage :
At Pas de La Coche, you find the Oisans side which you keep up to the breach of Roche Fendue. As you gain altitude, the landscape dries up to give way to a mineral world. At the Col de la Mine de Fer, an excavation intended for the extraction of iron recalls the time when miners surveyed the sides of this valley. The path descends and crosses the very wild valley to the refuge perched on its rocky outcrop overlooking Grenoble and the Grésivaudan valley.
The new guardian, Pauline, will welcome you.
For seasoned hikers, it is possible to do Les 7 Laux / Jean Collet directly (be careful, very long day).
