This route will take you from the ancient charterhouse of Saint-Hugon at an altitude of 778 m to the Férices refuge. It can continue without marking to the Col de Bourbiére under the Grand Charnier.
Please note forestry work in progress from July 31 to September 29, 2023 on the portion between Pont Sarret (789m) and Cohardin Bridge (1248m). Portion prohibited to all, a diversion has been put in place. For your safety, please respect the temporary signage.
This long hike will allow you to discover one of the wildest corners of the Northern Alps. After leaving the old Charterhouse of Saint-Hugon behind you, only the forest track will remind you that civilization is behind you.
This hike will take you to the Férices glacial cirque, dominated by the Pic du Frêne at more than 2800 m. It is this summit, often covered in snow, which announces to Chambéry residents the arrival of winter.
If the call of the great outdoors seduces you, you can try to spend a night in the Férices hut, and continue your quest for the wild in the early morning to the Col de Bourbière.
