Lake Carouge welcomes you all year round to its leisure center.
From its surroundings, admire the panorama of the surrounding mountains, and in particular Arclusaz, an emblematic mountain classified as a UNESCO Geopark of the Bauges massif which is reflected in its waters.
This lake has the particularity of being a former gravel pit which has been transformed into a leisure center for more than 20 years. With an area of almost 10 hectares, there is no shortage of activities: supervised swimming during the summer period, fishing, pedal boat, games for children or simple stroll around the lake. Early in the morning, you'll see sports enthusiasts meeting up for their jog, while sun worshipers set up their towels later in the afternoon.
Accessible by bike, the lake benefits from the Blue Flag, attesting in particular to the quality of its waters.
The landscaped surroundings allow you to easily go around and observe the landscape with the Château de Miolans in particular as a backdrop.
The eastern part of the lake, less developed, is classified Natura 2000: it is an area rich in biodiversity, which must be preserved. Stay on the trails, and you may observe animals, both in the water and on the banks: great crested grebes, coots, herons, and other birds found in aquatic environments are often present.
A demarcated area is reserved for fishing. You must have the departmental card of the Savoie fishing federation.
