Short hike of 4h30 between forest, vineyard, mountain pasture and dry meadow. Beautiful viewpoints over the Combe de Savoie, the Grésivaudan valley and the Massif de Belledonne.
Discovery of the Arbin / Montmélian vineyard.
Departure of the circuit: from the car park near the cemetery-park, chemin de Beauvoir, towards the hamlet of Calloudes. Follow the path that starts at the top of the car parks on the right side of the road. After 100 m cross the road and take the path which leads to the plot of vines which overlooks the road.
Start of the trail at the bottom right of the plot. The wide path rises towards Arbin through vineyards, copses of locust and laburnum and a pine wood.
Take the path on the left which winds through the prairie of La Générale (protected dry meadow), the ascent is made in copses and clumps of boxwood up to the ridge.
At the top turn right. Belvedere with orientation table near the rock of Manettaz (Danger: watch out for children).
Continue to Col du Mont (picnic table).
Possible fork to Lac de la Thuile (1.5 km) or go back west and find the end of the Calloudes walk above Arbin.
