About us

The Caf'Ethik of Fibr'Ethik, is organizing a screening at the Charlie Chaplin cinema as part of the sustainable development month of Cœur de Savoie: Toxic Secrets in the presence of the director Andy BATTENTIER and Bernard TURPIN, doctor.

While the law requires that no pesticide be authorized unless its safety for health or the environment has been proven, how is it possible that scientific publications hold them responsible for cancers, respiratory diseases, cognitive disorders and other chronic diseases, as well as harmful effects on the environment such as the fall in insect populations and the depletion of soils?
Toxic Secrets shows how this paradox can be explained by the lack of serious toxicity studies before they are put on the market. At a time when the ecological crisis calls for a change in the agricultural model, it is urgent to fundamentally transform the pesticide authorization system, to succeed in bringing about healthy agriculture for humans and the environment. How did we end up finding toxic pesticides in our fields and on our plates? How is the toxicity of pesticides assessed in France and Europe? What are the alternatives?
With this film, we answer these questions. --- Toxic Secrets is a coalition of several dozen organizations whose goal is to obtain the withdrawal of fraudulent products and the conviction of those responsible for the fraud, the carrying out of real toxicity studies before any pesticide product is placed on the market, and the conversion to agroecology of our agricultural system.
Two speakers, a director and a doctor, will be present to present this film and open a debate.
