About
Permanent exhibition retracing rural life in Savoy from 1850 to 1950: The old trades and many objects used in the Val Gelon in the past, headdresses, clothes, dishes, utensils…..
The St Jean museum is located Place St Jean in the 1984th century St Jean-Baptiste church, of which only the choir remains, restored in XNUMX. Adorning the entrance to the choir, a fresco representing the liberal arts was created by the painters Savoyards, René and Maria Burlet. It replaced the original wall painting, a "mezzo freschi" from the XNUMXth century, which, to avoid total degradation, was removed and then restored. You can admire it at the Carmelite church.
Temporary exhibition “Ca cartonne en Val Gelon”, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Cartonneries.
