Festive evening full of lights and songs!

the City of Montmélian invites residents to enjoy a beautiful festive evening as a preview of the end-of-year celebrations: lantern parade, fireworks and Christmas concert.

A lantern parade, organized with the Anim'ta ville association and with the help of young municipal councilors, will enchant the streets of Montmélian from the market square to the François Mitterrand space.
The meeting is given at 17 p.m. on the market square for all residents wishing to participate for a departure at 17:30 p.m. Come collect your lanterns and take part in the Christmas parade! (Allow €1 deposit for LED lamps.) It's time to take out your Christmas sweaters and other hats with bells!
The “little extra” this year: around fifty dance students from the municipal school of music and dance have been preparing a choreography for several weeks to follow the parade while dancing.

What if it was also an opportunity to light up your windows as the lantern parade passes?!

Arriving on the esplanade of the François Mitterrand space around 18:30 p.m., you will be greeted by the batucada of the municipal music and dance school.
Take advantage of the on-site food stands offered by Anim'ta ville and by the parents' associations of Montmélian schools.
The Montmélian Youth Municipal Council and the Espace Jeunes de Cœur de Savoie will also be present to offer you homemade Christmas decorations and shortbread, sold for the benefit of the food relay.

Young municipal councilors will also mobilize in the morning with a Christmas collection organized in Montmélian supermarkets for the benefit of the food relay.

…Enough to wait before the fireworks, fired at 19:15 p.m. from Fort de Montmélian. Take full advantage of the show from the Espace François Mitterrand esplanade!
And to end the evening with music and songs, the traditional Christmas concert will take place at 20 p.m. in the Pierre Côt amphitheater of the Espace François Mitterrand. A free concert, with: the Harmonie de Montmélian, the municipal school of music and dance, the Arc-en-Ciel/Crescendo choirs, Poulailler Song, the Choirs of the Citadelle and the Rally Cor.
This year, the Christmas concert program will be sold for the benefit of the “Parrains Par Mille” association, which will present its actions to you. This local sponsorship association offers children and young people in difficulty the opportunity to meet a “resource” person living near them to discover the world differently and gain confidence in their abilities, by sharing activities and outings for example.
