Les Tours de Montmayeur
The Tours de Montmayeur is a Medieval site containing the remains of a 12th-century motte-and-bailey castle. Its north-eastern tower rises over 20m above the ground.
Description
Other than numerous remains dug up by archaeological excavations, the keep, outer walls, 'aula' (lord's house), kitchen and church, the attraction of the Tours de Montmayeurs is its strategic location overlooking the Combe de Savoie, offering visitors a 360° panorama over Les Bauges, the Massif de Belledonne and Chartreuse.
