The World Championships serve a cause and leave a legacy. Our mission is to promote the Savoie Mont Blanc territory through the development of sustainable and exemplary free flight events, for everyone, and particularly young people. This priority target of these championships represents our future and the future of the French Alps. A specific program is intended for them.
10 years of international events
For ten years, Air Evènement has been highlighting the practice of free flight in collaboration with the FFVL (French Federation of Free Flight).
No less than 5 events of international scope have been carried out by our association. Although paragliding is mainly represented in these competitions, Air Evénement also wishes to bring its experience to other practices, such as in 2016 with the organization of the French hang-gliding open.
During the last decade, they have organized three distance paragliding world cups, in 2014, 2017 and 2019. This latest edition marks a major step forward in the evolution of paragliding competitions since it has seen the appearance of the web tv (Paraglide.tv) arrive, allowing total immersion in the heart of the competition. A sign that the association is constantly trying to renew itself and improve its organization.
But the best is yet to come! Obtaining the pre-world championships in 2022 and the world championships in 2023 organized in Chamoux-sur-Gelon testify to the confidence and professionalism granted to Air Évènement, which achieves its final objective with the organization of a world championship. . A competition to be held in France for the second time only, 32 years after Digne-les-Bains.
