Whether you go there by car or by bike via the V62 and V63 cycle routes, it is easily accessible from Chambéry.
To the north of the Chartreuse Regional Natural Park, this lake was formed following the collapse of Mont Granier in 1248. It is located in the middle of the "Abymes" forming unique landscapes, land of the most widespread Savoyard grape variety: Jacquère.
A small expanse of shaded and flat grass invites you to put down your picnic basket made up of products from our region (Tomme de Savoie with marc, diots, crunchy AOC walnuts). The view of the clear waters of the lake, the vineyards and the white limestone cliff of Mont Granier (1933 meters) calls you to contemplation. In the afternoon, enjoy the walk around the lake where you may have the chance to see some fishermen stationed on the pontoons, admire herons and enjoy the seasonal smells of the flora. The lake is also the starting point for several hiking trails.
At the end of the day, if you wish, you can plan a wine tasting in one of the many wine cellars nearby.
